About Skootor

A gas-scooter share, built for cities that need more than a kick scooter and less than a car.

What we're building

Skootor is a Sydney-based scooter rental network designed for the way people actually move around a city — quick errands, day trips around the CBD and inner east, week-long visits, or a month of car-replacement commuting.

We chose 125 cc gas mopeds (Honda PCX and SYM Orbit) because they cover real range, handle Sydney's hills, and don't leave you stranded with a flat battery. Rides start at $30 a day, with weekly and monthly rates that compete with traditional rental services.

No app to download. Scan the QR on the bike with your phone camera, sign in, and you're riding.

Why now, why Sydney

Sydney's geography rewards a two-wheeler. The CBD compresses tightly between the harbour and the parks; getting from a Bondi morning surf to a Surry Hills lunch is a 25-minute drive but a 12-minute scoot. Public transport works for some trips, cars work for others, but nothing was sized right for the middle.

We're launching with a fleet in Sydney CBD in July 2026. Once we've proven the rental model works in our home city, we'll expand to other Australian capitals.

The company

Skootor is operated by Skootor Holdings (Aust) Pty Ltd (ABN 18 635 623 004), an Australian proprietary company registered in New South Wales.

What we're not

We're not a kick-scooter share. We're not a car-share. We're not a delivery-platform side gig. We rent real 125 cc motor scooters by the day, week, or month — with all the licence, helmet, and road-rule requirements that come with them.

If you have a NSW motorcycle licence — Class R (full) or R-Date (LAMS-restricted) — or an equivalent overseas motorcycle licence plus an International Driving Permit, you can ride a Skootor.Read our safety + ride tips before your first one.
